I think it's a great idea, but is the Admiral the best target? What are his abilities (if you know)?

No clue. I imagine all the special roles are the most powerful, but I couldn't say for sure. I would guess that she can control the movement of ships, but I don't know. Who would you target?

I think that getting rid of the Tactical Officer: Romanqwerty of the Battleship might be pretty nice, since he's got the biggest boomstick on the block. One thing to remember is that, in this game, the mafia is the one on the clock here. If we leave the status quo the way it is, we're probably going to lose. If nothing else, getting rid of Romanqwerty will mean that we're buying a good bit of time since we're seriously hurting the damage the Battleship could do.
Of course, the Admiral may be more powerful, but without a rundown of the powers, I'm just going to say to hammer all the tactical officers.

I'm still thinking that killing people who can shoot guns (looks like tactical officers and helmsmen) is best, since taking out a ships weapons pretty much makes it useless. But, you're certainly right, the unique roles are probably dangerous all on their own.

That's what I think. AdventFalls for example has an ability that can make someone reroll.
It's just not clear what the target number is for success.

From the OP:
I'm not sure what falls under the heading of "actual ship battling mechanics" though.

Day 1

Post by teucrian on Jul 23, 2010 16:32:28 GMT -5
So with my special power of doubling up the actions of either the helmsman or the tactical officer I think I'll be expected to use that every day if one of Duna/Roman goes down. So unless we can kill both we'll have to lose my daily action for no net gain.
I'm thinking we could target a special on another ship. We've got two infiltrators on the Piett and we're both people who might conceivably have access to the encyclopedia, (Captain and Science officer are logical sources for that kind of thing.) So we'll wait until we hear about who's on the other ships to make a final decision.

Ah and there it is. Farangu the viper captain would also be an excellent target, as Sir Fabulous just informed us.

Hey guys I'm here now. Farangu seems dangerous. The Vipers are powerful and he gets a giant bonus to his roles.

Capfalcon. Sorry for voting for you, but it's day 1 so I don't see any harm. I'm just voting like I would if I was a villager.

Hopefully people aren't going to start posting all their powers to the thread. The more secrets we can keep about precisely what we can do the more ineffective we can be. Wish we had a helmsman infiltrator to zag into the way of one of the Williams but failing that we need another way to implicate the ship. I'm not inclined to move the Khan into the way unless ya'll really think that's a good idea.
What if Kay used the power to force the Williams to miss? We'd have to find their tactical officer though. Maybe just send a PM to everyone on the ship explaining that you've got a one time 50% instant kill power?
